The Wilfred is a secondary "cup-style" competition that began in 2024. The concept is simple: To add a secondary trophy to compete for alongside the Owners Cup. The rules are also simple: Each week, the team with the lowest score will be eliminated from the tournament. One team will be eliminated in weeks 1-4, 8, 13, and 15-17, as these are the weeks in the 2024 season with no NFL teams on bye. The last team standing will be declared the inaugural champion of The Wilfred.

What's with the name, you ask? Wilfred "Bill" Wickenbach (pictured above) was the dude who invented fantasy football back in 1962. He was a entrepreneur from Oakland, California who founded the Greater Oakland Professional Pigskin Prediction League (GOPPPL) with members of the Oakland Raiders organization and others. Amazingly, Wickenbach never trademarked his idea and never made any money from its explosion in popularity. The name of this competition honors him.
